Friday, August 16, 2013 - Move-In Mania    (top)

8am-4pm Move-In Day
Unload the cars and say goodbye to the parents; it is time to get settled into your new room
8am-6pm

Getting Settled
Time to figure out parking, housing and student employment details.

(Go to 'Powell Corner' to taste test Richmond Cuisine.)

11am-1pm Lunch Time
Head over to the Powell Building and check out the lunch selection. Cash, Debit, Credit and Flex dollars will be accepted for use.
5:30-7pm Dinner Time
Head over to the Powell Building and check out the dinner selection. Cash, debit, credit cards and flex dollars will be accepted.
7-8:15pm Floor Meetings
Get to know your floor and find out all the awesome details of the weekend and year ahead.
9pm-12am Late Night at the Rec Center
Free Food, Inflatable Games, Zipline, Foam Dance Pit, and Gaming. Basically everything needed to create a legendary night. Just follow the noise and crowds; it's where everyone is going.

Whether you are an early riser or want to sleep in, head over to the Powell Building and grab a bite to eat. Cash, Debit, Credit and Flex dollars will be available for use.

1-5pm Set Sail for Success OR Prepare to Sail to Success
Failure is not an option OR Don't be the freshmen overboard.  To prepare for the voyage of college these three topics:  Health, Relationships, and Zeal will greatly affect your university experience.  These sessions are designed to have you lead your Eastern's experience as Captain of your Ship.  Nationally acclaimed speakers are brought in from across the country to run these interactive presentations at Keen Johnson, Alumni Coliseum, and Brock Auditorium.
5:30-7pm Dinner

Dinner will be available for purchase at the Fresh Food Company. Cash, Debit, Credit and Flex dollars will be available for use.
8-11pm This is not a tea party:  S.S. Fun at Keen Johnson
Glow Dance Party, Casino, BINGO, Free Food.  Lots of prizes and fun to be had. There will even be a walk-a-way signature gift for those that attend.  This is more than a celebration--it will be #EPIC.  Steer your helm towards Keen Johnson to take part in this night.

You are assigned Convocation #2. Please report to O'Donnell Auditorium in the Whitlock Building at 3pm. Park in the Alumni Coliseum Lot.

There will be a variety of Open Houses and Informational Panels. Some participating groups include:

His presentation will enlighten you on the importance of good decision making and close with a powerful motivational message to help you realize who you really are, what your future holds and how to set your destiny.

James Cunningham’s award winning “Fun”-ancial seminar “Funny Money” is radically changing the lives of fiscally challenged students everywhere. While being extremely informative about REAL money issues, this program will also have you laughing …all the way to the bank! Combining comedy and audience participation with an exciting multimedia presentation, James teaches the essential skills in earning, spending and saving money properly. He first guides you to financial stability and then takes you to the next level of achieving great wealth and prosperity.

September 10 D.I.V.E.R.S.I.T.Y - How to Survive Change, Create Culture & Unite the Divide

This program will address the real meaning of excellence in communication, leadership and self-esteem. It all starts when we wake up in the morning with our daily routines and expectations; however, sometimes we have a glitch in our system. Facilitated by Professional Speaker Stan Pearson, he will help identify that glitch and put you into overdrive. This workshop will make you laugh, think, focus and evaluate whatever you’re going through and take you to the next level.
